FEBRUARY 9, 2021 – The Indian University (now Bacone College) was established 141 years ago with a prayer, mission, and promise to provide education to American Indians.
Today, the college’s new generation of American Indian leaders strive to educate a culturally diverse student body through socially just, equitable, holistic, educational opportunities for all students.
“This land on which Bacone College sits was donated by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation to educate all American Indians,” said President Dr. Ferlin Clark. “Today, we honor our students, staff, faculty, leaders, and the founders of this historic school as we continue to provide equitable and meaningful educational experiences.”
